Random Encounters

Amidst all of this moving I have decided to sell a lot of my things if for nothing more than because I genuinely don’t need them anymore and hey, I can make a few bucks. It’s a win win.

My expectation was to sell enough to buy a new dining room set, which I reached today! #goalaccomplished.

What I didn’t expect, was to meet Alice. Alice is a 55-year-old, beautiful soul. In meeting her at a random location of exchange, I was given the privilege of hearing a tidbit of her story. She lost her husband 3 years ago. And she is now raising her 4 grandchildren. Oh, how hard that must be. But what a gift!

Alice inspired me. She reminded me that there are good, decent humans in this world. I may not know much about her, but I do believe she and I could be friends. As does she, for she said so in a text message just a bit ago.

I guess what I really want to say is, be a light. Yes, there may be bugs that circle your light and encroach upon the beauty at hand. But then again, when you are a light, people can see a home nearby.

So thank you, Alice. And thank you, God, for the reminder that though random, all encounters are worthy of a little light shown. Because you never know who you are leading home.
